Quarantine (2008)
When a tv reporter and her camera man monitor a late shift at the fire department they get a call about an incident in a building. When they arrive, the police are at the scene and they hear loud screams coming an apartment. Quickly they find a woman who seems to be infected with something, and she bites one person. The infection spreads with bites, and soon the whole apartment building becomes a game of who stays alive and dies.
Word gets out about an infection, the CDC comes out and puts the building under quarantine. Then things start getting crazy. The infected run wild while one by one people get infected. As the survivors lose contact with the outside world, the only way we know what’s going on is with whatever the camera man films.
They find out that the infection is actually a virus that was stolen from a doomsday cult.
This is an American version of the film (Rec). It’s shot shaky camera style so if that’s not your thing, I’d stay away. This film compared to (Rec) fails completely. It lacks a lot of things, so many plot holes, unanswered questions, and all that. What gets me though is that I understand we’re not suppose to know everything but there’s really not much time spent on how or why this is happening. Just made it really flat.
If you’ve seen this and were alright with it, please watch (Rec). It’s a lot better overall.
